who is that?

The Director is the person who traditionally has co-ordinated the show before it has reached performance time. It is the director who choses the actors, works through the script and Blocks the scenes. This means that the director works out specific movements for the actors, like where to stand, where to walk and what gestures to use.

If the performance incorporates dance, usually there will be a Choreographer. This is the person who choreographs or makes up the dances then teaches it to the performers.

If the performance has music in it then a Musical Director (MD) is usually needed. This is the person who looks after everything musical in the performance and teaches and conducts the orchestra. Sometimes the Musical Director can teach songs to the cast but more than likely, there will be a Vocal Coach or Repetiteur to teach the performers the songs and help them with technique, harmonising and projection.
