Styles range from Realism to Absurdism and all of the plays are written to be performed by teenage casts.

The Plays

Cast: 3    Running Time: 15 minutes

Language is a fashion, away to identify...

words as emblems, labels that define groups...

Three strangers meet. They speak the same language but not the same words. Understand and you can belong, use the wrong terms and you’re ostracised.

Where Did the Name Come From?

Cast: 8    Running Time: 30 minutes

From garage band to FM band... This band has no name. Can it make the big step from back yard to front stage? Not if they can’t find any other members at the auditions... and not if the bane of all bands raises its head - musical differences!

Career-ing

Cast: 9    Running Time: 30 minutes

User pays - even for an education. Forget about getting good marks to get into university. Now it’s just money that you’ll need, and plenty of it. Tanya’s parents are in prison for failing to pay HECS debts and she’s working three jobs to try and pay for her course, but will she get a job at the end of it anyway?

Look

Cast: 18 plus     Running Time: 30 minutes

Looks are/aren’t everything... appearances can be deceiving... what you see is what you get... looks are only skin deep... look and you shall find...

In Your Face

Cast: 7    Running Time: 10 minutes

Face up to it, pimples are much maligned but they’ve got a job to do. It’s tough and it’s dirty but someone has to do it. A squad of pustules ready themselves for a dangerous mission from which many will not return.

Like, Now

Cast: 6 plus     Running Time: 15 minutes

Fashion is fickle, fashion is superficial, fashion is a uniform. Make sure you look like the rest of the herd or you’ll end up on the outer.
